I told my gf that we were going to go and visit my brother for the weekend. We are actually going to the beach to stay at a really nice hotel where i booked us a suite for 2 nights. In the hotel there is a really nice fine dining restauraunt, I am suprising her with reservations there. During desert I am going to pull the room key out and ask her if she would stay the weekend with me. I am expecting her to say yes ....

i'm new so hello to everyone!! 
i'm planning on proposing this weekend i realize this is very short notice, but i have a few ideas in my head, and it's not the most romantic idea or extravagant idea, but i'd like some kind of input. i was just planning on having a bonfire, some wine, sunset, and just randomly ask her all on the beach sitting on a blanket...  i 90% believe she doesnt have a clue its coming or that i personally designed the ring.  so any kind of input or suggestions would be AMAZING!  thanks everyone!!

First off, my girl and I have been together for a little over 6 years. She knows it is coming... Was with me when I bought it. We have always talked about getting married and she already knows what she wants. She wants certain things in the proposal.... She has to look nice, it must be public, and a surprise. I welcome all ideas and any help.
    My main idea is this.... Her birthday is around the corner and planning a birthday dinner with her and her family would throw her off thinking it's just for her birthday. I would let her know that I am running late with a business...

Ok so I have two ideas and looking for advice on how to work them out and which one you think would be better.

1st. "Message in a bottle" I was thinking of getting a clear bottle with a cork and putting a letter in it like a message in a bottle and maybe tying it to a rock at the ocean and while we are taking a walk I could be like "Oh look!" and open the bottle with the letter inside and read it to her then do the whole knee thing. The only thing im worried about is that im going to have to there before her to put the bottle there, but what if someone finds it...

Two weeks ago we were in St. Maarten and found our rings (do you homework before you buy) so some of the suprise is gone. I am planning on flying to Vegas in two weeks (23 Mar 09) to suprise her at her hotel after her meetings .

But now I am looking for ideas on how to go about doing that.

If you still have snow on the ground you could take a can of spray paint, preferably red, and paint the snow with your message.  I heard one story where this was done and so many people noticed it the newspaper came out to write a front page story and get the photos!

• Simple Chores like, I'll do the dishes tonight, I'll cook your favorite dinner, I'll clean the bathroom etc...

My fiance is such a wonderful romantic girl and always comes up with these awesome things to do for me.  I do my share of romantic things but hers just mean so much.  On my birthday instead of getting a nice card she took a photo of us from a party we went to recently. One things that really made me happy that my fiance did recently was... It was my birthday. Here's the deal.  I'm going to propose.  But she knows it's coming.  She was with me when we bought the ring.  I lost a lot of surprise points there but it is what she wanted.  I am very much a traditionalist and I want to try to surprise her as much as possible, but I have no idea what to do on a limited budget.
