Generally I don't think I will have any problems thinking up idea's on how to porpose, I am more having problems on thinking about where. We have done some travelling before and both enjoy the laying around on white sandy beaches, crystal blue water, beachside dinners, sunsets, poolside """PeePee"""tails and all other things like that which i'd imagine you would find in the Whitsundays and Fiji. I have an idea for, what I think is, a really original idea to propose to my gf. She love wine and loves going to wine taste in Nappa Valley. I've got the big plans figured out, but how to actually pop the question is tough. I live in DC and I've planned a trip to head up to NYC for the weekend and take her to a Broadway play because she absolutely loves Broadway. I got tickets that I probably paid too much for and already booked a nice hotel right in the theater disctrict. If she is close with her family you could make up a special Christmas / Holiday or birthday present plan to have her open it with her family on the big day. Place the diamond in a presentation box between two plush velvet pillows into a gift box.  Be near her when she opens it and get ready to propose.  You might be nervous to ask her so by setting this up you know when its time to get down on one knee and ask her.

In November, I'm taking my girlfriend to Barcelona, Spain for a 4 day weekend.  We will be staying at a resort that over-looks the Mediterranean Sea.  She knows about the trip.  We have wanted to go on a European vacation for quite a while now, so, she thinks we are just now finally getting around to making it happen.

First off, my girl and I have been together for a little over 6 years. She knows it is coming... Was with me when I bought it. Ok so I have two ideas and looking for advice on how to work them out and which one you think would be better.

1st. "Message in a bottle" I was thinking of getting a clear bottle with a cork and putting a letter in it like a message in a bottle and maybe tying it to a rock at the ocean and while we are taking a walk I could be like "Oh look!" and open the bottle with the letter inside and read it to her then do the whole knee thing. The only thing im worried about is that im going to have to there before her to put the bottle there, but what if someone finds it...

Two weeks ago we were in St. Maarten and found our rings (do you homework before you buy) so some of the suprise is gone. I am planning on flying to Vegas in two weeks (23 Mar 09) to suprise her at her hotel after her meetings .

If you still have snow on the ground you could take a can of spray paint, preferably red, and paint the snow with your message.  I heard one story where this was done and so many people noticed it the newspaper came out to write a front page story and get the photos!

I heard of a story where a guy cut out 365 red and pink hearts and put a note on each one.

• Simple Chores like, I'll do the dishes tonight, I'll cook your favorite dinner, I'll clean the bathroom etc...
• Dates like: dinner at your favorite restaurant, a drive to the beach, a picnic at the park etc...
• Others like: A backrub, setting up the bubble bath, watching the kids for a night out etc...
