First you'll need to decide if your reaching for the stars or if you would rather keep it calm and quiet. If your like me, you'll want to make this something she will tell her grandkids!
When I started thinking of proposing I asked many people how they proposed to their significant other. I was surprised to find many of them had to really think about it before giving me an answer. I want to help you make this something they will never forget!
Next we'll need to know a little history of the couple. Where you are from, How long you've been dating, What you both like to do together etc... The more you explain yourself the better the results.
I started ourweddingproposal.com at first as a way I could tell my friends what I was thinking and together we could all brainstorm an idea. After a few months of brainstorming I slowly started adding more and more content and features to the site. Today we have members from around the globe most who came for ideas. Your ideas could be their next idea and vice versa.
Once you have your first draft idea you post it in the NEED HELP forum. Our members will be quick to respond with some new ideas to bounce off you. If you like them use them, if not tell us why. Then you can copy the URL of your forum post and tell all your friends about your questions. If there becomes a need to set aside a section of the forum I am able to create a "child" board for you to control. You will need to prove that there is a need, if you have too many replies to your post we can discuss. Send me a personal message *Quin-DanP* to discuss those matters.
All I ask of all the ourweddingproposal members is if your here to find an idea try and leave another idea that hasn't been mentioned. If you are looking for some ideas that have to do with a boat. First do a search at the top of the page for "boat" before posting your idea. Unless of course you know its a unique idea. I'm sure my idea hasn't been done before. You can read all about it in the Dan & Laura section of the forum.
Good luck with your search and with your "Perfect Proposal".
If your computer saavy enough you could create a website about how much you love her. You could make it private or public all depending on what she would think about it being public... An easy way to do this would be to create a "lovespace": You've heard of myspace, everyone has! If you don't have myspace page already you should. its really easy to start one up!
IM: Send her little cutsie IM's while at home or at work. Depending on if you can send IM's while at work. I don't want you to get in trouble if your company has something against this!
eMail: Send her a romantic or cute email.
Txt Messages: You can send her a txt message via the computer if you know which carrier she has. Just visit the carriers website and do a search for sending a txt online. If you don't normally text her send her a quick message while she's away. It will surprise her and put a smile on her face.
Flowers: Send her some flowers just because...
Videos: With todays camera phones and digital cameras its very easy to make a video and post it online. Again you can make it public or keep it private. I used windows movie maker to make a valentines video for my sweetheart and she really loved it!
When most guys (and gals) begin planning their marriage proposal, they instantly think of limousines, hot air balloons, fancy dinners and expensive champagne.
The RoMANtic's Guide to Popping the Question is a new book that challenges the myth that one has to open their wallet to show what is in ones heart. A nationwide search for the most romantic proposals brought in over 7300 stories and the best 101 showed credit cards and bank accounts have little impact on romance.
The grand prize winner was a guy who creatively used a $10 piece of hardware and a $7 bathroom fixture to pop the question to his girlfriend. The other winning stories invested a lot of heart and sentiment into their proposals, but not a lot of cash.
Author Michael Webb, who is a popular talk show guest, has long been teaching men and women how to get back to the romance of days gone by. The best part about Webb's book is that it will actually save you money on your proposal by showing ways you can express your love without opening your wallet.
